Direct payments
If you receive Direct Payments from your local authority, these can be used. to pay for your care. Where appropriate, family members may also make additional top-up payments.
Can I Receive Financial Support for My Care?
If your savings and investments exceed £23,250, your local authority may expect you to pay for some or all of your home care costs. When you receive care in your own home, the value of your main home is normally not included in the financial assessment. If you are unsure whether you qualify for financial support, you can request a financial assessment from your local authority.
